Linear Ion Trap
Linear ion traps deliver high sensitivity and rapid scan rates at lower resolution, making them well suited for tracking low-abundance analytes in demanding matrices such as serum and plasma. opticbiolab operates a Thermo Scientific LTQ Velos Pro linear ion trap coupled to a Waters nanoAcquity HPLC.
With this configuration we routinely reach detection levels near 5 pg/ml—an excellent fit for pharmacokinetic work. The platform is run under Good Laboratory Practice to support dependable, audit-ready data.
QTOF
QTOF (quadrupole time-of-flight) systems provide medium- to high-resolution mass analysis for precise molecular weight measurement of small molecules and proteins. opticbiolab runs three Bruker Compact QTOF instruments, measuring small molecules and peptides at approximately 20,000 resolution—typically to about two decimal places—to support confident identification. Optional MS2 fragmentation can further confirm structural features and peptide sequences.
HPLC
opticbiolab standardizes on Waters Acquity UPLC chromatography. Our QTOF systems are paired with Acquity UPLCs that include UV detection for purity assessment. A flexible column library—C8, C18, HILIC, and Amide among others—lets us address a broad range of small-molecule and peptide chemistries.
The Thermo LTQ Velos Pro is coupled to a nanoAcquity operating from roughly 100 nL/min to 5 µL/min, boosting sensitivity by orders of magnitude versus conventional HPLC flows and enabling analyte detection down to about 5 pg/ml.
